Farmers inform why meat prices are rising in Kazakhstan

Despite the increase in the number of livestock, the rise in meat prices in Kazakhstan continues. Farmers believe that the reason lies in the inaccessibility of agricultural subsidies and systemic errors in this area, Standard.kz reports with reference to ranking.kz.

According to the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Farmers of Kazakhstan Zh. Dairabaev, the rise in prices is due to insufficient subsidies, expensive loans and outdated agricultural equipment.

All this affects the fact that farmers cannot increase the volume of production. The allocated subsidies are mainly received by large agricultural enterprises, while smaller farms are simply left behind.

At the same time, according to the BNS ASPIR of the Republic of Kazakhstan, only 9.4% of cattle head is accounted for by agricultural enterprises, even fewer cows (only 7%), and even less horses and sheep (6.6% and 5.7%, respectively). But the share of poultry in agricultural enterprises is significant - 73.5%, although the cost of chickens is also growing from year to year.
