Kazakh teachers complain about extortion in schools and kindergartens

Anonymous complaints about the collection of money from teaching staff on a variety of occasions are regularly received by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science, the department said, Standard.kz reports with reference to AstanaTV.

A scandal over extortion among teachers occurred in the East Kazakhstan region. At the same time, it is noted that usually educators do not seek to wash dirty linen in public. The head of a kindergarten in the city of Zaisan collected money from her colleagues for the state certification. According to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the specialist has already been fired.

"We received an appeal from 24 kindergarten teachers that the head of the kindergarten is raising funds for state certification. This issue is under consideration by the relevant authorities," said Saule Baltabaeva, head of the department for licensing educational activities of the East Kazakhstan region.

The head of the education department explained that the head of the kindergarten already had two reprimands.

According to the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science, teachers from Turkestan and Almaty region have previously reported illegal collections of money.
