A new model of preschool education and training will be introduced in Kazakhstan

Askhat Aimagambetov, the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, told how Kazakhstani children will be brought up in kindergartens within the framework of the new model, Standard.kz reports with reference to Kazinform.

“The coverage of children aged 3 to 6 with preschool education has now reached 99%. Now we are faced with the task of improving the content and methodology of teaching kindergarten programs, strengthening the requirements and, in general, improving their quality,” said Askhat Aimagambetov during a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the minister, the adopted model of preschool education and training will be implemented this year.

“If before that time for young children, as in school, 20-minute classes were held according to the schedule, then

now, according to the new model, the teacher will carry out training and education according to a special methodology: from the moment the child arrives in kindergarten, using games and communication tools

according to the physiological and psychological needs of children of a certain age. Studies of foreign experience also show the importance of this technique,” the head of the Ministry of Education informed.

“To ensure the quality of kindergartens, the requirements for them will be tightened. That is, the main requirements for issuing a state order will be: the material and technical base, a video surveillance system, the qualifications of teachers, compliance with sanitary and fire safety standards. In particular, private kindergartens need to create comfortable conditions for children,” the minister explained.

To ensure transparency in the distribution of places in kindergartens, Askhat Aimagambetov added, it is planned to create a single database of queues for kindergartens.
