Retirees in Kazakhstan spend almost half of their pensions on food.

In the ranking of 44 countries in terms of food expenses of pensioners, Kazakhstan is only in 37th place, Standard.kz reports with reference to Finprom. Nevertheless, this pessimistic indicator is the best among the CIS countries.

Kazakhstani pensioners spend 47.2% of their entire pension on food.

It is pessimistic, however, among the CIS countries participating in the rating, the indicator of Kazakhstan turned out to be the best. For example, in Russia, pensioners spend 58.9% of their entire pension on food, in Moldova - 59.2%, in Belarus - 76.7%, in Ukraine * - 84.9% (the worst figure among the countries in the rating).

The best countries are Norway (here only 13.4% of pension is spent on food), Austria (13.7%) and France (14.3%).
