Several European countries lifted coronavirus restrictions

Two European countries - Austria and Switzerland - have announced the lifting of almost all coronavirus restrictions, Standard.kz reports citing Reuters.

Almost all restrictions in Austria are planned to be lifted from March 5. So, the bans on the work of cafes and restaurants at night will not apply, and at public events they will again be allowed to eat food. The curfew will also be lifted. In addition, from February 19, the country will return to the 3G rule - that is, in addition to a certificate of vaccination or recovery, a negative test for coronavirus will also be recognized to enter various events.

Quarantine restrictions will continue in "particularly vulnerable places": hospitals and nursing homes. The 2G rule will continue to apply there, requiring a certificate of recovery or vaccination. The requirement for masks will be in place on public transport, as well as in banks, supermarkets, pharmacies and post offices. In other places it will only be a recommendation.

In Switzerland, from February 17, they suspend the use of COVID-passports. There will also be no more restrictions on private gatherings. The requirement for mandatory masks is being lifted for schools, shops, concert halls and workplaces. But until the end of March, they will need to be worn in public transport and medical institutions. At the same time, it is emphasized that the various Swiss cantons have the right to set their own limits.

Denmark previously became the first country in Europe to lift all COVID restrictions. Then all the restrictions imposed in the country due to the spread of coronavirus infection were canceled by Sweden.
