The exhibition presents more than 60 graphic works created in the period from the 1970s to the present. Along with graphics, the exhibition includes ceramic works of the author. Ahmet Akhat equally successfully works in various graphic techniques, such as lithography, engraving, etching, monoprint.

The main themes of the artist are the history of the Ancient East, the myths and legends of the Uighur people, the life and fate of his contemporaries. The past and present in his works are comprehended through the prism of deep philosophical reflection on the inseparable connection of times, the meaning and purpose of man's earthly destiny.

Ahmet Akhat was born in 1954 in Ghulja (PRC). In 1974 he graduated from the art and graphic faculty of the Alma-Ata Pedagogical Institute named after. Abai. Since 1988, a member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since the 1970s, he has become a permanent participant in many international and republican exhibitions. In 1995 he was awarded the Gold Medal at the Asia Art exhibition in Tashkent. Ahmet Akhat completed his postgraduate studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The artist is an academician of the Academy of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Exhibitions of Ahmet Akhat were held in the USA, China, England, Turkey, Italy. His works are in the GMI them. A. Kasteev, in the residence of the President of Kazakhstan "Ak Orda" (Nur-Sultan), the State Museum of the East (Moscow), in private collections of near and far abroad.

 The exhibition presents the early cycles of the early 1980s - such as "Tobacco Growers", "Earth and the Universe", "Aggression", "Scientists". They contain a style characteristic of Soviet art of those years, which is rich in metaphors and allegories, the spirit of the implementation of global tasks and plans for the creation of a new industrial era. In the series of the 1980s based on oriental legends and tales, Ahmet Akhat reveals subtle emotional states captured in the epic poems of oriental poets.

The oriental theme finds its continuation in the graphic works of the 1990s and 2000s, when Ahmet Akhat began to create a series of monoprints in which ancient rock paintings are the key figurative element. Ahmet Akhat is in constant creative search, testing various techniques and styles, striving to create a figurative language that would harmoniously synthesize the achievements of the classical heritage of the East and West, would be able to touch the feelings and thoughts of his contemporaries.

This exhibition introduces the viewer to the little-known graphic works of Akhmet Akhat, providing a unique opportunity, stepping over the border of the known, to look into the "hidden" corners of his unique creative personality, to discern in the seemingly familiar phenomena of the surrounding reality the previously invisible facets of the beautiful and infinite world.

The exhibition will run until April 4th. The curator of the exhibition is Amir Zhadaybaev, candidate of art history.
